Sedum Desert Red
Sedums are succulents, and as such are a very useful plant to cope with those hotter and drier areas of the garden. Sedum ‘Desert Red’ is a new release Sedum with deep rose pink flowers in late summer which mature into shiny red seed heads, extending the colourful display in the garden even longer into Autumn. Foliage is in a flat and spreading habit with blue green leaves which darken with sun exposure. Excellent for borders for late Summer mass colour. Companion plant with other Living Fashion Sedums for a lovely display in your sunny, dry garden areas. Sedums do require water when young, so ensure plants are watered well especially when getting established.
Sedum ‘Desert Red’ is valued for its striking red flower display and attractive foliage. Grow Sedum ‘Desert Red’ in full sun in a well-drained site, for instance a sunny bank. Avoid over-watering or water logged soils. Water to establish, allow to dry out between waterings. Low nutrition needs, prefers a ‘lean’ soil. Winter dormant. Avoid spraying with chemicals.
