A very pretty spring perennial. Dicentra Gold Heart’ produces arches of bright gold foliage on peach coloured stems. As if that isn’t enough, heart-shaped rosy pink flowers are suspended from the arching stems for many months from spring. The plant has a nostalgic feel about it, a very new take on a perennial of yester-year. The foliage will lift and brighten shade areas of the perennial garden with a splash of vibrant foliage. Very striking!

Dicentra ‘Gold Heart’ is a moisture-loving perennial (although some drying out between watering is important). Excessively dry conditions will lead to summer dormancy.  ‘Gold Heart’ will require some shade in New Zealand light conditions due to the light foliage. Dormant in winter and in the heat of summer, where the plant may die back temporarily. Foliage will re-emerge in Spring. Keep moist especially on establishment and feed occasionally with slow release fertiliser. Easy care. Hardy. 0.75m x 0.9m
