Bergenias are one of the hardiest of perennials, with attractive ‘leathery’ leaves and pink flowers carried on spikes in early spring. Bergenia ‘Touch of Frost’ combines the charming pink flowers seen in this cultivar in the late Autumn and Winter, with variegated cream and green foliage which blushes with a touch of red in the coldest parts of the year. Bergenias are very useful perennials not only for their leathery hardy form but also for their very early spring flowering display. Bergenia ‘Touch of Frost’  is a new variety of Bergenia which differs from the commonly grown garden Bergenia cordifolia in that it is smaller and forms a tidy clump which will provide garden colour and interest over the winter. Flowers emerge in early spring nicely in proportion to the foliage. A compact perennial ideal for front of the garden bed or border.   

Bergenias will tolerate a very wide range of situations and soil types, they are a particularly easy perennial to grow. An easy and tidy low maintenance plant.  Plant in sun to part shade ideally in well drained, porous soils. Bergenias tolerate dry conditions well and need minimal watering so an excellent choice for those with water restrictions.
