Ajuga ‘Chocolate Chip’ is a low growing, narrow leaved ground cover Ajuga, with small, dark green overlaid with chocolate, dense and compact foliage. This ajuga makes an ideal ground cover edging for borders, around trees and shrubs, or around and between large pavers due to its extremely low growing habit. It will stand up to some traffic damage. This versatile ground cover is topped in late spring / early summer with intense deep blue flowers held on small flower spikes. Ajuga ‘Chocolate Chip’ is an excellent filler plant for the modern landscape. Combine it with contrast specimen plants such as Yucca Colourguard, or foliage plants such as one of the new colour range of Heucheras. Ideal for achieving a dense massed landscape ground cover which will be low maintenance and discourage weeds. Less invasive than some Ajugas so plant 15-20cm apart for quick establishment of an even cover. Prefers part shade and will take some morning sun.
