Kniphofias are better known by their common name, ‘Red Hot Pokers’, and ‘Ember Glow’ is one of a new selection of dwarf Red Hot Pokers. These are better performed than their common big brother in that ‘Ember Glow’ flowers for an extended period and more abundantly, in fact from Summer right through until the first frosts. The bi-colour orange and yellow flowers are vibrant and striking on a very compact plant which would be perfect for a smaller garden area.  Attractive to Tui because of their profuse nectar production.

Kniphofia ‘Ember Glow’ is a full sun lover and drought tolerant.  Removal of dead flower heads to ground level and an application of mulch to preserve summer moisture will be beneficial. Divide with care in spring but infrequently as Kniphofias sometimes resent being moved or disturbed. Easy care. Hardy.
